Bad Beat Syndrome and The Road to Recovery

If you are suffering from bad beat syndrome or BBS, we have discovered a 12 step program to help recovering bad beat addicts.Although Phil Hellmuth (pictured left) declined the offer to be Spokesman for Bad Beats Anonymous or BBA everyone can still benefit from the program. The first step in the long road to recovery is admitting you have a serious problem. If your friends and family keep telling you to quit whining like a baby everytime you lose then you more than likely are suffering from bad beat syndrome better known as BBS in the poker community. If you or someone you know is suffering from BBS just send them here and tell them to follow the 12 step program.

  • Step 1- Realizing that you have a problem that can be corrected

  • Step 2- Knowing that there is no such thing as a bad beat

  • Step 3- Admitting that poker is a form of gambling

  • Step 4- Anything can be conquered if approached 1 day at a time

  • Step 5- Knowing that the only hand that can't be beat is the elusive royal flush

  • Step 6- Take a shot of vodka every time you think you are having an episode

  • Step 7-12 Repeat steps 1-6 over and over until you feel better, although you could just keep repeating step 6 if you don't have to work tomorrow

  • The motto of BBA is the most important of all and should be carried on your person at all times. It is as follows:

I (Your Name) do solemnly swear that I will no longer cry when somebody has the balls to call my AK suited holding only 10-2 offsuit and hereby fully admit for all the world to hear that poker is and always will be a game of chance. I also realize that unless I'm sitting on a royal flush I can be beat at anytime and lose my entire bankroll. This I do solemnly swear with the poker community as my witness

Now...get back to playing and quit crying!

    Blackjack Games at Party Poker

    Party Poker Cruise

Party Poker now has blackjack games for those of you that are burned out on poker. I'm not quite burned out yet but it definitely was a nice change of pace. Of course, with bj the house does have a slight advantage although its very slight. If you play your cards right you can win some cash. The thing with black jack is knowing when to quit. If you get way ahead in winnings its time to walk away which is very hard to do. The casino is counting on the fact that you will play long enough to lose all your money, so take your winnings and run....as fast as you can!

On a different note, PartyPoker is also now offering side bets on the flop. This gives you the opportunity to gamble even if you folded your hand. The concept is not new but it is a first for online pokerrooms. You have to be very careful with this kind of betting because your odds arent very high and you lose your bankroll in a hurry but at the same time if used sparingly it can also add to your pot o gold. Go ahead and give it a shot but be careful

Why Air Mattress and Kitchen Appliances Should Be in Another Category

I'll tell ya why.....because its called spamming for fucks sake. If you are selling air mattresses and kitchen appliances you shouldnt have poker tags. If your site is about poker or you write an article about poker then fine, you belong here. But at the very least you should stay in your category. I dont use the tags "christmas gifts" or "camping supplies" in my posts. Get a frickin job

World Series of Poker: Spotting A Sucker In Online Poker

What I did was go completely against the grain of everything you probably have ever read and definitely everything you have ever heard here. I have a buddy that has never played poker online at all,he does know how to play and is a pretty good player in the physical world but he wanted to give it a shot online. I talked him into downloading from Party Poker and opening a real account but told him he had to let me play for him for the first month. He immediately wanted to know why and I told him that I had an idea that I thought would make him a lot o cash in the long run. He agreed and we got started

Poker Forum and Poker Blog Directory

Online poker is booming everywhere you look. In every small corner of the net you can find links to video poker, online casinos and poker rooms. The explosion of poker also has a growing group of young folks looking into playing poker for a living. This can be very profitable if you use some math logic and common sense. In live poker the one thing you have to have (other than cash) is complete unpredictability. If you bluff every 10 hands, someone will notice. The trick is to keep it in the back of your mind constantly that you should never ever let them know what you are thinking!. If you are playing with a table full of people like this, then all logic and most poker odds go down the toilet, cause the cards can and will fall ANY way they want to
